politics is over, it seems, but the best US players have been more or less boycotting the predator events since the first one. the tables were gaffy and the format wonky. the tables are fixed and the format i think has been proven at least determinative? if you like your game and practices the shootout (and triangle rack breaking) you've got just as good a chance as an opponent of equal skill.

the eurotour refs may be another source of annoyance

I think the politics are out of it as probably the biggest WNT/MR player promoter Jayson Shaw is playing the Men's event and also in a very interesting Mixed Doubles pairing with Savannah Easton.

I love that pros seem to be settling into the mixed dubs. Love the format and a lot of these teams are getting dialed in with fitting partners (for those that don't have an obvious partner...).

Interesting match ups in the first round:
Seo/Capito v. Han Yu/Juanarta
Liu/Morra v. The Fillers

Savannah has been playing really well, she and Shaw could make a run. A. Fisher and Jesus is an interesting team also.
 
i love how a bunch of keyboard surfers on a forum should dictate a player's schedule. you really think missing one of the predball events is that big of a deal? could just be the holidays, wtf knows.

What I love about dubs is when you have a pair that's on the same page it's like playing catch with the cueball. Rita Chou and Chang Jung-Lin (RIP) were like that the last few events.

We used to play loads of doubles in college. Just a great way to play the game and it's good for friendlies when you have large skill gaps.

i have rarely managed to sit through a match with oliver szolnoki, but with his doubles partner muyan zhang in the last event it was actually a good watch. that girl will be a world champ one day.
