Brushing is ok for the old directional nappy cloth but is a total waste of time on worsted. I agree all you do is move dirt around. You need a way to get the crap off, either a vac/X-1/both.The thing that bothers me with brushing is that it seems like you are just moving the chalk dust around the surface of the table instead of actually removing it.
I would not use a shop vac or other extra powerful vac. I use an old canister vac that is only used on the table, with the small upholstery attachment and the crevice tool. I would not use an attachment that has been used on floors. [edited] I meant to say I wouldn't use a floor attachment that has a spinning brush.Any insights into the vacuum or attachment(s) - I've always been afraid of too much suction affecting the cloth.
I have been using a vac for a while now but I have never tried using the damp cloth, coming from Bob Jewett I thought, I might want to try it, all I can say is WOW, I thought my table was clean before but it's like night and day after the damp cloth, thanks for the tip, I'm going to make it a part of the daily routine after practice, thanks for the tip.No. Use a vacuum cleaner followed by a damp cloth. Also use the damp cloth on the rails.
