Dominguez vs Guama race to 50 for 80+ per side

all the more reason he shouldnt touch the table as he has the expertise to change how the table plays in his favor.

another reason not to touch the table as he wont be able to know what has happened and cannot make an informed deciosn about the changed conditions.

if he did not know or was not simply told exactly what was changed on the table and agreed to it he wasn't beaten fair and square.
I saw the match and Oscar out played the dude.

Why should anybody play on equipment that is broken?

Merely having equipment meet regulation specs is not favoring anybody.......

One thing that stands out is, Oscar's safety play.

He should have asked for all the breaks and then removed all the rails below the side pocket, I mean thats fair right.

How dare Oscar reinstall the rails because he agreed to play on that table - cheater.

That's how dumb ya'll sound

If I'm playing better than my opponent, I will beat them on any table in the room....a soft rail won't stop me. The pockets were absurdly tight and that was not changed.

How many rails did Oscar need to fix, all 6?
Did he replace all 18 rail bolts?

These guys are just bad action.
Guama played bad and lost.

The table is set up for back pocket 9 ball or whatever other gaffy games they play. Could also be set up for 1 pocket/1 ball 1pocket too, if you think you are going to beat someone on their home gaffy table at their best game then you haven't played on a gaffy table before!

Sounds like Oscar played better, won and was paid in full. So if the net effect is just that Guama’s side think its irregular and undesirable for Oscar to show up with tools, make modifications to a table he doesn’t own, and not directly inform his opponent of doing so… I think they have good standing to make that complaint. I’d find it very weird if my opponent did that, even if I was playing Jesus (which isn’t far off from Oscar).

Sounds like you can give the world the 8 on making up excuses

Modifications? This place is full of losers

Congrats

I think the situation that is not being looked at is from a side better point of view. Imagine you had $5k on Guama and were watching from some remote location. The match ends and you are ready to send your $5k, then word gets out that Oscar modified the table prior to the match and didn't notify Guama. You still gonna send the $5k or feel like someone tried shenanigans with the match?

home table means a lot if the game is remotely close. and if gaffed as some are, it helps immensely and can make the worst player a favorite.

he may still lose of course.

and if that table is changed or so called fixed to the others specs or how he prefers it, then all hope is gone for the hometown hero.
especially so, if he doesn't know it happened.

what would some say if guama secretly adjusted the table after oscar did and made it back out of wack so he could win.

would they now say guama won fair and square. of course not. they would call him a cheat. things have to work both ways in a bet.

IOW, your motto is "if it is broken, don't fix it"

I've played on a gaff 10 ft 1pocket table that the owner of the table would play much better players and win. Banking on it to make balls was just not happening!! I also recall the story from Playing off the Rail about the table down South near a truck stop or something with dozens more diamonds on it that the guy used to beat Tony if it's even true lol!! Even if the rails are decent they will still have dead spots!!

Is Guama a table mechanic?
