Custom and High End Cues on the Decline?

You have been given as well my friend, no one can boast I did it, your parents GAVE you the life you have, without them caring for you as a child you would have never survived your first 3 days on your own, this is the same for all human beings, it goes deeper than that but this a pool site so I will stick to the topic at hand, pride in owning something? All that takes is money, nothing to be proud of in my opinion, happy I have something I really like? Grateful.
When i was young I didn’t really play much. In my late 40’s I took it up.again and was thrilled playing with the original Cuetec with a Le Pro tip. It was wrapped in fiberglass, so it was happy to live in my car trunk. I played APA and worked my way up to a 7 and would still use that cue if the weight bolt hadn’t broken loose. (I also broke with it, and broke pretty hard.) as I aged I turned to better (more expensive stuff). I now see the young guys and older guys, with a cheap butt and a carbon fiber shaft. They don’t care about a “fancy” custom cue, and it they want fancy, they buy a Players decal butt. I would guess that those of us that care about custom high end custom cues are a dying breed, and at some point values will be affected unless a hard core collectors group remains. I doubt they will include players as the collectors.
Everything I said is 100% true, if it's not, point out where it's not, since you can't you resort to calling me stupid, I have no problem letting anyone decide for themselves.
There's all kinds of players who are collectors on here. Why would you collect pool cues if you don't play pool?

I can't say I enjoy being runout on but I appreciate the skill it takes, I'm much happier when I'm the one doing the running.....

I totally agree however I also know and understand that because they're playing against me that they have to bring their A game because I darn sure will be trying my best to beat them every time I'm at the table .

Has anyone got into the carbon fiber custom cue market yet?
There must be some way to make them non-black in color. Glue on some (fake) turquoise to a standard butt and there you go. Someone will pay you 6 grand for it.

Carbon fiber in general is black. But you could go hybrid, carbon fiber Kevlar to add some some color. My personal opinion is that pool cues should be wood in its purity. And that Jason needs a whole rack shoved up his.....
