SVB vs Josh Filler announced for Feb 6th at NYC's Amsterdam Billiards

skyline is owned and managed by pool players and the people that you will find there are pool players

pool players cannot afford the amsterdam or society prices- food, drinks, or table time

it’s not remotely close

and it’s not in an expensive upscale part of town, it’s a neighborhood and they treat people that way

the equipment is every bit as good as amsterdam without the constant vacuum cleaner noise, they do that after hours
Skyline is pretty sweet.

If Steinway was still open, that would get my vote as the #1 pool hall in NYC.

Pool halls in NYC are so expensive that I'd rather just hanging out at bars with Diamond tables for pool action.

I get jealous hearing about people in other states that can rent tables for single digits per hour!

I enjoyed this match and thought it was refreshing. I liked watching these 2 duke it out on a GC with normal pockets. You could catch glimpses of smiling faces and it shows respect for the other's game.
Same here, nice old school 9 ball with 1 on the spot and looser pockets. Either of those guys could probably bust a 6 pack at any point once they got going.

Both Skyline and Gotham City Billiards (my pick for best pool hall in NYC) are in the single digits per hour. The daytime power play options at both come out to $5 or less per person.

It's funny you mention Skyline. I have a friend who has attended both Amsterdam and Skyline and he says that it's two completely different places. Amsterdam is more for league players, mainly because that's their bread and butter clientele. It feels more like an upscale sports bar with excellent management that does not let dumb pool hall stuff happen in there. You have to appreciate that about the place.

Skyline on the other hand, literally feels like almost every pool hall you've ever entered. You should expect someone to come up to you to play for money.

The best thing about both places is that they keep their equipment in top shape. He loved that the most about both venues but he will always pick Skyline over Amsterdam.
