What's the difference between the 3 and the 4?
o Over a decade of development, constantly improving and going strong
o Smaller and lighter - 0.38oz, 35mm x 21mm x 14mm
o Increased precision and accuracy with the latest MEMS motion sensor technology
o Increased Bluetooth range and connectiion stability
o Increased rechargeable LIPO battery life
o New mounting option with free cue butt device holder
o Software enhancements, including new Deviation chart

Is there a volume control for the beeps? Does it have to oriented as shown on cue?
The QMD beep volume can be controlled with the ringtone volume on your mobile device. The sound can be turned off entirely on the software's Settings screen. Also, pointing your cue upwards about 30 degrees or more will mute the beeps when you're moving around the table.

The QMD device doesn't need to be kept oriented on the top of your cue when in use, it'll work sideways or even upside down. You do want it on top, level and still when first switching on the device.

Please provide your Declaration ID so that users like us can verify that you have a license to use Bluetooth technology in your product. Thanks in advance!

I'm glad you're enjoying your QMD4.

The wireless communications for the QMD (the original digital stroke trainer/analyzer, NOT A WANNABE KNOCKOFF) is globally pre-certified - FCC XPYNORAW1W2, ISED 8595A-NORAW1W2 and many other countries.

Yes sir. But in addition to EMC compliance and certification, which is indeed included in the premium paid for pre-certified modules, you must also obtain a license from Bluetooth SIG per product per company entity. Please see the following:

Qualification ensures standardization and integrity for the Bluetooth brand.

The QMD is a good product. However the DigiCue Blue is the only stroke trainer that measures metrics before, during and after your entire stroke, and includes a form factor that is non intrusive to the player.

Thanks for the info! BTW what is a non-intrusive form factor? The QMD4 can be mounted on your shaft OR on your cue butt with its 'butt holder'. You can consider this as a flexible form factor.

I believe you don’t understand and did not know that your company needs to pay for and obtain a license to use Bluetooth technology before you place a product in the market. This license is not included with pre-certified modules. The only thing that a pre-certified module buys you is exemption for intentional radiator EM testing. However, part of the due diligence of releasing an electronic product on the market is ensuring you have all permissions to use a technology. It is your responsibility to know this.

Now that you are aware, you must purchase a license. You should do this soon because the fee schedule will increase again on Mar 1st 2026. Failure to do so will incur a penalty every 45 days. Please see

It is unfair to operate without a trademark and IP license when the rest of us have followed legal avenues properly.

Thank you for the information!

You are welcome.

It may be best for you to contact an attorney because I am unsure if a decade of violation accrues additional fines to the $12,000 declaration ID fee. You can also contact SIG enforcement and ask. Good luck 👍
I've used a digicue blue and do not remember having the stroke analyzed in the manner seemingly shown in the second to last picture in the OP - where you see the cue and see its flight path at different stages of the stroke. I'm a right handed player that has a bad habit of pulling towards my body on the backstroke, and pushing away from it on the follow through. So this is exactly the info I'm looking for - play-by-play as the stroke is taking place, not just a damage report.

Can someone fill me in on how these two products compete in this regard? I'm a buyer of whoever's peddling the data I'm looking for

Slopopolis,
You can install the FREE QMD4 software on your phone or tablet - search the Google or Apple app stores for 'QMD4'. You can then take a look the sample practice session that's included and see what's provided, including the frame-by-frame playback of your cue that you're lookin for (top, side and back views with a stroke acceleration chart, stroke deviation chart and relative tip to ball contact point.). There's also a user guide linked on our web site that explains usage and all the software features.
Thanks for your interest.

Have one and totaly dislike that you can not get rid of sample overlaying the recorded shot , that little sample word never goes away in the app.
Hi, not totally sure what you mean. If you're talking about the Sample practice session the app come with, it can't be deleted. But if you have other practice sessions recorded by your app you can scroll the session list on the Practice screen by swiping up/down on the screen to whatever session you want to look at. You can scroll the Sample session out of sight, but like I said, it can't be deleted like other sessions.
