Ed Peterson CF shaft (EAP Cues)
EAP Custom cue butt is my favorite (so pretty!) but I play with it rarely at home, not at the hall. I have it more to just have it. (Yeah, I know, INCOMING!!)
Second favorite is a kind of nice Orchid. I played with it some at the hall. It’s 0.6 oz lighter than the other cues I list here.
My regular player is an Adam I found on FB Marketplace for $80. It has decals, not inlays.
All these cues are 5/16x18, and the CF shaft fits them all. With the exception of the Orchid being slightly lighter, all these butts feel and play pretty much the same.
I try not to play with my “best” cues because 1) the hall I am playing at has really tight quarters and 2) I am clumsy and can’t seem to go a session without banging the butt on a leg of one of the metal bar stools that line the tables.
The hall I used to play at will re-open soon, moving into a MUCH larger space and cue butt-chair leg collisions will be much less likely since they planned for way, way more room between the pool tables and spectator tables and chairs. I will probably use the Orchid there.
I also have a different Adam that I was using for a couple of years but it has a plastic joint, and even though it is the same weight as my other Adam player, it’s balance point is farther back so I no longer use it.
