Better for me: AVID vs. G-Core or Vikore

Viking: the ugliest cues I've ever seen. 🤮
McDermott: still pretty ugly, all of them.
Cuetec Avid Sneaky Pete: sharp looking in my opinion....

Nice sharp points. Add a Cuetec Duo Extension for $110 and you'll be just under $500 before taxes. If you buy the cue from Seyberts, you can try it out and if you don't like it, you can return the cue within 30 days--you will have to pay shipping+insurance back to Seyberts as well as their shipping cost to you, so it may cost you $100-$150 to return it.
.

I have to disagree about Vikings and even McDermotts being ugly (besides the butt cap). Viking has a lot of great designs

I hear you about the appearance of many Viking and McDermott models. I tend toward simpler models, and I'm not a fan of swirly-pearly plastic. But each company has a several models whose looks I'd be happy with.

I agree with you that the AVID Era looks sharp. I used to overlook Cuetec because I was more into the romance of traditional wooden cues. Once I started coming around to the more modern, tech approach like Cuetec or Predator, the AVID Era model you posted was one of my first choices.

You guys are missing out. You can buy an entry level Meucci with the Pro-shaft and they play JAM UP.

I did exactly that and I love it. I paid $380 for a beautiful rainbow stained one on Black Friday, and I love it.

The cue is beautiful and the shaft plays excellent (in my opinion).

I’m not missing out, but the OP didn’t ask about them. 😉. Avid is still easier for the extension IMO and less expensive shafts. No knock on the Meucci. I have an extension for my Meucci. So Meucci has a lot going for it and I like them. Getting set up with 2 shafts and an extension the Avid will be less expensive.

I'd give the nod to Cuetec.

Good looking cue with decent tech stock. Great extension option. Easy upgrade to a Cynergy shaft down the road and can keep the Avid shaft as backup.

They're just smartly designed affordable modern cues. Cuetecs whole range is really solid these days, the Propel is my favorite easily accessible jump cue and I hear the Breach is a great breaker even though I've never tried one. They all look nice too, clean designs.

I just wanted to share. I bought a Meucci...and I just really like how good it plays. Like...really good. And they're so affordable. Whoever took over the company is doing a really nice job.

I think they're the best looking production cues on average. Even the cheaper ones have nice ringwork and nice finishes.
