I must live under a rock bcuz I hadn't heard a word about this tournament locally.
An offhand comment made to me by another player at the hall a few days ago asking if I was going was the first I had heard of this.
Nothing on TV or radio, no flyers in the halls.
I guess predator either has such a huge following or they're relying on league 'word of mouth' to put folks in the cheap seats.
The marketing for this event was abysmal. And it's free!!
No wonder these events don't draw the numbers they once did.

If whoever that is in charge of advertising pool tournaments for Predator can ask the new entities for a Public Service Announcement they're either free or at a reduced rate .
I know predator doesn't have a problem sending me daily emails selling their products .

Granted I don't know how things work outside of my little part of Montana and they certainly have to have a healthy budget for advertising so they should be able to advertise a tournament .

St Louis is a sports town and supports a healthy number of pool leagues and bar table tournaments.

But the PR I've seen (or actually haven't seen for this event) has been on the poor side, as previously mentioned. I don't believe there has even been anything in the local paper which will print just about anything sports related. No TV on the local channels; no posters in the rooms and bars; and other than a couple of players hitting a couple of the local rooms to practice, no meet and greet and play the champion and win... sumthin.

Good PR can't just be the easy stuff, ie social media. With just a little footwork they could have gotten a lot of the locals to go. Like everywhere else, they especially like "free" here.

TV maybe slipping with viewers but still it and radio should also be used for other forms of getting the word out for an event no matter what it is .
As people are traveling around and may see or hear the add that them missed seeing on their usual information network so to speak .

I seen a commercial spot for this on the Billiard Channel during a European Predator tournament .

What other pool events have been advertised on tv or radio in the last decade+ ?
Also, based on your previous comment, it seems that even if there were ads for the event, you're still not sure if you'd attend. Confusing.
