8ball is so ass. Missed a positional shot? Don't worry, there's SIX other balls to choose from. Missed another positional shot? No worries, there's another 5 balls to shoot, just take your pick.
Are you sure it stops the clock?
Here is what I could find on the web (it is from the Puerto Rico event last year):
Shot Clock
Tournament Management may implement a shot clock in any match at any point of time at its discretion. The time control for the shot
clock is as follows: 30 seconds per shot, one extension of 30 seconds per rack, extra 30 seconds for the first shot after the break. The
“time” signal will be announced by the referee or sound automatically when 10 seconds are left. By default, time will not be paused for
any assistance with bridge or cue ball cleaning. The referee may decide to stop or reset time; in which case they will announce the
amount of time left when the time resumes
When Gerson did it vs Bergman, fairly certain the clock stopped.

I only saw one example, but the clock did stop when Sky had the CB cleaned, as well.

I agree for the most part in terms of pro 8 ball on 9 footers. I like watching 8 ball on bar tables- it is interesting to see how they deal with tie ups- how they break them out
Biado and Albin through to last 32 in style want to win this badly. If either win this title, they will make history by being first ever to win Triple Crown of World 8B/9B/10B. The closest to achieve the Triple Crown were Wu and FSR who both won 8B & 9B but fell short finishing runner up in 10B
According to Wikipedia, Albin won the 8 ball last year but never won 10 ball.

Hope Bergman/Fu win whole thing. Double comeback first comeback after down 1 set and also comeback in shootout after losing 3 set which they should have won. Love how they don't talk and just go on do their business trust each other. No apologies, no coaching, no chit chat. High level doubles should be played this way

dunno. i know albin did it last year against (i think) bader alawadi, won the lag, ran out.
race to 8 is very short if the racks are good. with magic rack i reckon they would need to add +4 to the distance, at least.
for pro 8-ball you need to throw some kind of wrench in, or it will be to easy. in predator WC it's the wonky triangle and table unfamiliarity. especially the side pockets caught a lot of players out the first days, and still do
