match was close due to his less than seasoned safety play and Murphy's sheer relentlessness

Feels like the best World Championship in years! 
Last three matches (both SFs and Final) are a must watch. Those last four warriors seemed just unplayable at times.
(I feel for Murphy, can you imagine he's now lost 4 finals, after winning his first at 22 as a qualifier. Hopefully he does get his second)

Murphy was outstanding, by the time he beat Zhaou he was damn near unstoppable, i think he would have rolled over anybody in the finals this year except Wu
Shaun's speech after the match was a piece of its own, such a class act. During the season, when in China, he had a quick chat with Wu Yize and told him, he will be a world champion some day. Telling this today, Shaun whispered then "I just regret it happened today"
i would say 2018, but if you omit the quirkyness of mark williams when he's in the zone (shooting with eyes closed and one handed etc), this may be the best final i have seen.
the quality in the last session alone was just incredible. very few nerve cracks from either player - and you could tell by the strokes and crisp ball contacts.
congrats to the bet. i had already got mine in so i didn't have skin in the final. glad i picked finalist and not winner..

I had money riding on a Wu win, but couldn’t help feeling sympathy for Murphy and would have celebrated him winning.
It somehow felt like he was the better player throughout the match to me.
