8 ball allergy.

It's choking if you you have angle and or distance related phobia zones. Maybe. I don't like the word, it's such a diminutive. General sensibility dictates you blame yourself or take the meds.
Regardless, incorporating CPG into your PSR will always have you on the _intended_ shot. This is a worthwhile habit to adopt on your 10,000 hour hit a meeyun baw trek.

It becomes part of looking at the balls. Most of us haven't put in the time to animalize the pursuit. CPG will center and anchor the shot visualization as if you had, just for the looking.

Maybe the look of pool confuses you. Pros and their wannabeez wanna look confident and smooth. Fine when they like it. Not so fine when the pretender has to suck it in.
Not so funny thing, there's only one set of the Gorsts and Fillers and that strata of lineage. They could easily do the animal thing but would rather win.

I don't know what you're talking about dude.

Typical strategy. Dumb it. :p
Filler loves McDonald's. I don't think equating intelligence to pool ability has anything to do with it. Some of the best players I've seen were dumb as rocks. And some of the smartest players...teach.

I just don't understand your need to speak in riddles. Just talk normally. You use words like diminutive but then also use incomplete sentences. Kinda weird. Maybe that's your thing, and if so, my apologies.

Didn't equate intelligence to anything. Stuff I say about shooting pool is usually self explanatory.
In question is, take some logical steps on the side of caution or just put the ball in the hole. The topic is after all, sudden pocketing awareness whiteout.

And curry ketchup I hear.

Well, it took a while to read all the responses and confirm that I have not added my 2 cents yet.
I recall a time (long ago) when I was experiencing similar. My self analysis had me searching for why. My conclusion was that the difference was planning the final resting spot for whitey. Every other shot I knew Exactly where I wanted whitey to stop. With the 8 ball I was just making sure that the cueball stayed on the table. That was a Huge mistake. Making a complete plan right down to exactly where I wanted whitey to rest was oh so helpful.
Another helpful tip I got from a top player regarding feeling pressure on a game ball. He called it "chasing the dog" . Get up from the stance step back, take the cue and wave it around under the table to chase the dog out. Then get back down and finish it with a clear mind.
My biggest victory in an 8 ball tournament came playing a Grand Master in a regional 8 ball tournament. As I got down on a simple final 8 ball, the propensity and size of a victory came into My brain. I raised up, walked back to my table and took a pull on my beer. I then apologized to The Grand Master for the stall. This served to chase the dog and clear my mind.
I had seen Dan Louie run 7 In that tournament when his opponent dogged his game set and match shot. Grand Master titles are earned , not given. My Master designation was earned. Grand Master was still far far above my pay grade. 😉 oops almost forgot the shrug 🤷‍♂️. 😉

Watching Shaun Murphy playing in the World's I couldn't help but notice his religious adherence to His Routine. It included the statues stance at finish until the balls stop. Period 🤔
