predator logo on forearm

love it?
hate it?
would it stop you from buying one?

Forearm logos are a non-starter for moi.

About 15 years ago I was in Ernie's shop ordering another Gina and he asked if I wanted his signature (a big flowery thing) on the forearm. And though I had seen it on other examples of his work I was aghast at the idea. His logo on the butt plate clearly identifies his cues.

I said no

I’m mean it depends on the type of Cue. I definitely don’t mind it on my break Cue. I shoot with an LE4 at times and I’m glad it definitely doesn’t have a logo on the forearm.

Let's see...

Of all the shoes and boots I own, none have a logo bigger than 1/2" x 1". None of the shirts I own have a logo. My jeans have logos that are covered by my belts. Unless I worked for the company, none of my hats have logos.

I have made an effort, starting when I was 20, to wear as little advertisement as possible. I certainly am not going to buy a cue that loudly advertises the most over-hyped brand in pool.

An identifying mark on a cue should be unobtrusive and small. Most signatures are fine, but never near the joint.

Gaudy branding is made for insecure people who need acceptance from others. That goes for pool tables, also.

Not a fan. I am a fan of Predator shafts, though. I have a 9k butt that I use and I bought it because it is all black and not a walking billboard. I am a slight hypocrite as I do own a BKRush...

Or just buy a cue from any of the other thousand options.
That's totally fair. However, I like having a replaceable cue to go into bars and such where it could get damaged or stolen. I generally shoot with Revos these days, so why not pick a Predator?

I'm already in the Predator system a bit with several shooting cues, a BK Rush and a BK 2. I'm in the process of converting some of my customs to use Predator extension bumpers as I want a common extension to use no matter what cue I throw in the case.

I also really like some of the older Roadlines. I've got a SP8MNW that I love but lent it to a friend and he beat the heck out of it. That's about the time that Predator phased them out, so I haven't found a replacement yet. I suppose I'll get it refinished someday, but sort of balk at the idea of paying $250 to refinish a cue I paid like $600 for originally.

Have one and like it. I get compliments on it all the time. 🤷 somebody likes them. Predator sells out every time the bring out a new one lol

You can get a Predator shaft on other cues, so you can stay in the system without the ugly butts… you can add a revo to a cheap butt as well for the bar

I was going to switch to a Cuetec truwood, but they don't make them with uniloc joints to go with my shafts.
