Temu HOW tip

Last night a guy gave me his 314 shaft to install this "HOW" tip he provided.

No HOW branding on the packaging, low-quality branding on the tip, and the word GLUE is backwards on the back of the tip. I told him it was a counterfeit. He said install it anyway and he would try it out, so we shall see. I'll update after I get it on the shaft.

Their prices are low for a reason.

Another knock off tip maker that has jumped on the band wagon . I'll bet it's real close to what SVB has on his shafts that he plays with ! Then he probably wakes up and wants to scream ! Ha ha

I don't see why anyone would even risk something like this when you can get an Ultraskin, SiB or Thoroughbred for less than $10.

It's simple , he's trying to save a few dollars which may work but chances are it won't . if money is a problem I've always saved up the extra cash to get whatever it is that I thought I needed .
Now days that isn't always the case .

Yeah, but how cheap is the Temu fake compared to the good $10 layered tips? Even if the Temu tip is $5 why risk a bad tip and having to pay way more for a second instal than the difference?

Thread 'Temu Cue Tips'

I like to buy crap off Temu as everything is always a surprise. I took a chance on these Meilin tips (2 for $4). Short story is they are the worst cue tips ever made. Here's what one looks like next to a Kamui, at least it looks like it a cue tip at the start.

It's supposed to be a layered, pigskin, cue tip. But in installing it, it's clearly not made of leather. It's some sort of plastic or resin. Like fake plastic rubber. It burnishes (or polishes) nicely, almost like derlin. But it's softer to work with than any plastic or resin I've had on my lathe before. It's...

ANYTHING on Temu attempting to pass itself as real is not. Anyone with half-a-brain should know that by now. Quality varies from ok to pure shit.

How dumb does the tip manufacturer need to be to put the word "glue" on backwards??? Its beyond mind boggling. SMH!!!

Well, probably whoever they have in the factory at the Temu factory doesn’t speak any English. I’m sure if I was trying to knock off something with Chinese characters I could easily get them backwards and not notice.

Here it is installed.

Spoiler alert: Not great leather. Did not cut very nice. No nice ribbon here.

We'll see how it plays. He is a good player, but not all players can tell the difference in the tip unless it is drastic.

I wonder how many good players can really tell the difference between various good quality layered tips of similar hardness. Like could I tell if you swapped my Precision medium with a Zan or G2 or How or Kamui (assuming all same hardness and no visual clues)?

Absent something really unusual, I probably get 2 years out of a tip. Why would anyone even remotely serious about the game run any risk for maybe a $10 bill once every 2 years?!

Well, How tips are $20 to $25, plus installation. But yes, otherwise I agree 100 percent.

The difference in price for the tip is probably $10, maybe a little more. Install is no different, unless of course the cheap POS only lasts a short time, then it climbs quickly over the same period...

Regardless though, absolute silliness.
