Thank for your confidence but I think an escrow agent should be a person that buys & sells cues regularly.I can’t think of any, but if I had to too nominate someone here, it would be Bava, he is serious about cues!
I personally think having a cue built custom is like getting a Tattoo. I’m not getting one unless I have researched and feel your worthy of my life investment. I want to take pride in the cue builders and artists I select. If I was a artist, I’d appreciate knowing I was appreciated for my art.Maha……have you ever wondered about a pool player that has never played with cue maker X but has been curious
based on what they read or saw in photos? Eventually, they start playing in out of town tournaments which involves
players from other locales. This in turn, as you’d imagine, involves not only different players’ abilities but a lot of pool
cues he doesn’t ordinarily get to see in his home town pool rooms.
He gets to try several other cue makers and sure enough, he gets to try 2 or 3 made by the same cue maker he’s read about and viewed photos of cues he made. He liked the way all of those cues played but one in particular blows him away. It just played better, felt better in his grip, than any cue he has ever owned or tried. Let’s just say the cue was 1/3 oz. heavier or lighter than cues he normally would use or the pin was different or something was different.
The Why is less important than the Wow, if you get my point. He asks that cue owner if it’s for sale but it isn’t so he gets
contact info on how to reach the cue maker and can he mention his name if he decides to contact the cue maker?
Okay, has any reader experienced anything like this? I know I sure did in the early 2000’s which is why my collection of
cues is founded on one common denominator embedded in my Forum Signature. So how does he get to test play with
a cue he wants built but hasn’t been yet? Obviously, he can’t so if he orders it, is this basically a educated leap of faith?
I think ordering a cue will always involve elements of trust and hope much more than buying a pre-owned cue and
awaiting its arrival hoping the pool cue is as advertised, not damaged during transit and naturally, reaches you on time.
REALLY?!!!!!!I personally think having a cue built custom is like getting a Tattoo. I’m not getting one unless I have researched and feel your worthy of my life investment. Trouble maker much? If I recall a man named Ed, kept the tattoos and put them on lamp shades. Morel of the story, don’t get a tat unless you appreciate it, or some MFer will put it on his coffee cup for fun.REALLY?!!!!!!
