IMO it'd be totally reasonable to just seed the WQ and LQ accordingly which would solve a lot of these problems. The issue I'd have with that today is that the Matchroom Rankings/Money List isn't really a good representation of who the best players are. You'd need to solve that first.

It would not be hard to come up with a more realistic ranking system for who the best active WNT players are. Even something as clumsy as a formula that ranks every player based on: 34% last 2 yrs money list (current rankings), 33% last 12 months win/loss record in WNT events, 33% Fargo Rating (I know, I know) would yield a ranking system that is probably worlds better than what exists now

IMO, Shaw's best game is as good as anyone not named Filler and prime SVB. Thankfully for the rest of the tour, he's very inconsistent and is the most likely top player to completely mail it in if he gets a couple bad rolls

His shotmaking ability is absolute top tier. If only he had stronger table discipline!

My head said pick Shaw. My heart said Niels. But Shaw just says, screw it, so many times he is hard to have faith in. Mental game with him is a huge wild card. It worked when he beat Ouschan in the 2023 Hanoi final, but most of the time he just loses badly.

Table 4 Styer was down to AJ 5-1 then 7-2 but he’s clawed back to 9-6, (AJ hill). He snapped the 9 to go 9-5.
