Yeah but to be fair, there are so many rosewoods that somestimes the maker doesn't recall which it is. No way I could say with certainty what wood is in a few of mine.
 
It's like any luxury item. Let's say the "John Mayer" Rolex Daytona with a green dial that nobody liked it until John Mayer decided to say, "Oh, this is the bomb," and then it went through the roof. Same thing with Joe Rogan and the Southwest cue. He doesn't need to know how the watch was made (read cue); he just needs to tell everybody that he thinks it's the $hit. If more celebrities adopt Southwest or pool in general, that's a good thing.

Make it fashionable and it will become more fashionable. Mind you this response is many beers into the long weekend.

Imagine working 80-100 hours a week and owning hundreds of cues and forgetting about whether points in one of them were coco or rosewood or whatever during a 10 minute live interview. Yes, I can. He did remember details of his shafts and the model name of the Gina he bought almost 30 years ago didn’t he, so….

I like his approach to jump cues, buy’em all and find out. If I had his money I’d do that. Heck, I don’t have his money but the % of jump cues I’ve tried compared to my net worth probably compares favorably to his ratio of net worth/value of jump cues purchased. 😝. Given his net worth I probably win handily. I cheated and sold some and tried some for free.

I like how he says he likes craftsmanship. Didn’t he come around on watches? I don’t watch a ton of his stuff but didn’t he used to be skeptical of luxury watches then came around to them?

Yeah he seemed super detailed actually. He wasn't really famous in 1997 when he bought the Ginacue, so it seems the bulk of his collection might have been before he was super rich.

Yeah that’s whats great about joe though. He doesn’t have a problem changing his mind when he gets information and realized he was wrong.
I like how serious he takes the game. You can tell he loves the game.

imagine being this small minded that you can’t imagine somone who works an insane amount of hours can’t remember the exact detail of every one of the 1000 cues he owns lol it must suck to be you to be so angry and negative about things all the time. Now I remember why I have you on ignore.

Owning a thousand cues… that’s real good for the game… 😂 and working hard at what? Peddling a script? He’s a hard pass from me. Dollar signs in his eyes wider than Fedor’s 😂 not particularly angry, and if negative means discussing things that consider more than one narrow avenue, then sure, call it as such, if you want… if you had me on ignore, you’d not have had anything to have a little bellyache about 😂

Not to look a gift horse in the mouth, but these "what's in the case" series, usually have poor camerawork. And I mean going back 15-20 years when Inside Pool was doing them, and everyone in between. They seem to focus on the player talking, and ignore the cues. The camera should go back and forth, or have two cameras, one on the cues, one on the player, and edit later.
 
This was a great clip. I’m a Rogan fan in general but it’s cool to see how legitimately into pool he is and that he has knowledge of the game and equipment. I enjoy all the what’s in the bag segments regardless who does them and I think they are beneficial as everyone always wonders what such and such plays with and hearing it direct from the player is helpful.

Maybe we'll get a future follow up. Would love to know what his collection is like.
