Advice needed

They do indeed. The only one I remember not being overly fond of, was a CX series. If my memory serves, it felt "hollow" to me. Could have been just that particular cue. I'd only ever hit with a few Schons...Most of them felt pretty solid.
🤷
I think those were made for Cuestix and many players say they didn't play as well as those from Schon directly.
Just something I heard.

once a cue has been messed with a true collector loses some interest.
a shooter may or may not care.

i wouldnt buy a cue some else had refinished. i would want to do that myself if i bought it and decide who i wanted to touch it.

I would try to see what that cue sells for in really good shape and see if it's worth the investment
Heck, I was thinking more in terms of retaining the cue as opposed to selling it.

Whatever the value is now, it should only go up from here. There’s a finite number
of original Schon cues and 2nd generation Schons are comparable but not the same
in value, appeal or collectibility. Evan made a great cue but Bob set the height of the bar.

I am replacing the bumper, cleaning up the tip and shaft, then will be listing it here for sale. Thanks for all of the feedback and advice.
