I honestly had not thought about AI driving the frenzy and I use it constantly but not to identify cues. I do use Google image search to look for matching design elements but that is the limit of what I'm willing to trust this stuff for. I have noticed that recently I've seen more eBay...

Either way it's a $75 to $85 dollar cue that was bid up by morons. I don't understand the irrational exuberance that is sweeping the used pool cue auctions across all the sites right now. I've pretty much stopped bidding.

They do a lot of consignment and outright buy. Their fees are stout but they justify based on the amount of views your cue will get from the social advertising.

This ! There seems to be a radical detachment from the Trinity of rarity, collectability, and desirability. To be in the money you need all three and most things in this world only have one, 20% have two and 1% have all three... Even more frustrating is that the perception of the Trinity...

So I buy these old BBC one piece cues to salvage the rosewood to use as handle sections on my new cue builds. Most makers use maple for handles but my experience has been this old rosewood provides better hit transmission and it adds some additional cool factor knowing what's under the wrap.

All to often I watch players consistently hold their cue on the sleeve behind the wrap. They do it because that is where they need to hold it to get the right length when using a 58" cue. When I let them hit a couple of balls with my 60.5 they immediately feel the difference in both the balance...

Aloft concept was supposed to be a baby W hotel. That approach never really clicked so they tried to make the brand stand on its own and it has muddled on.

Almost all Alofts have a pool table, when I was traveling extensively for business I would try to stay at one just for this reason.

It looks like late 30''s early 40's Brunswick that had a name plate added. Something Brunswick would do in house if the customer requested. Similarly both Mueller's and AE Schmidt would take Brunswick base cues and add a name plate. Interesting to a small segment of collectors but not overly...
