    Peanutbutter... Mystery Cue...

Thank you for doing that, I really appreciate it! Now we're back to square one! Another collector friend suggested Tice but I don't know his cues either.

Thought I would put a leather wrap on it, not sure of style yet maybe ostrich.

If there was even the smallest chance of it being an import, Garczar would have called it!

The cue is now with Scott Gilmore getting a full refinish and new wrap. It was an old enough cue that the varnish was yellowed, so it's going to be interesting to see how it looks with a fresh finish. Sadly, no signature under the wrap.

Unless the maker purchased a forearm/butt set? I do agree, the veneer rings match the points perfectly, and the wood in the sleeve windows matches the grain of the forearm wood.

Wow it very it does have Guffey vibe. He's a new maker to me so appreciate the call out! The cue came out of a collection in Texas so Guffey is a real possibility

You are absolutely entitled to your opinion but expressing it in a slightly more tactfully might be a better option then shitting on someone else's cue. Even better if you don't know who a possible maker could be maybe just move on to the next thread.

Not really sure you get an opinion. Do you even own a real cue?

So this cue came to me in a collection of Titlist conversions that included a Palmer 2nd catalog cue, a Scott Gracio conversion and either a late date Rambow or a very early Balabushka ebony Titlist conversion (with Pete Sr. now, wish me luck). This one is a bit of a peanut butter and chocolate...

I have about 10 one-piece cues that came from AE Schmidt, a mix of different Brunswick models, and they all have black ferrules!

For pure feel, which wrap is best between Wild Stallion, Bison, Spanish Bull or Shrunken Goat?

Not as erudite as Justin, but clearly smarter than you. Sorry if my humor is above your intellectual level feel free to put me on ignore. I'll do likewise.

This sounds like some real Louisiana Voodoo shit! So do you sacrifice a chicken before every league night to "wake" the cue up?

Custom and High End Cues on the Decline?

I only use CF shafts on my butts, I don't play with the original shafts. When you isolate the shaft you really start to see what the butt brings to transmission of hit. The impact of certain design, joint, and construction choices become glaring. Some players prefer wood shafts some CF, just...

Bow string wax is mostly a mix of beeswax and pine rosin, I would give that a try too. One wrap material that has not come up in this thread is old school Martin style pig skin. I have four Martin's all but one is that reddish colored pigskin wrap he did and is like a cross between Spanish...

Best Cue Butts for Break Cues

Got a Ebony nosed full splice EO cues off eBay super cheap and paired it with a Whyte Triple 60 break shaft. There is no reason you could not find a similar full splice cue and pair it with the CF break shaft that feels then beat to you.

My concern would be getting this chemicals repeatedly loaded into the linen and how much is being absorbed into you. I love Renaissance wax and use it and Kramer's Best religiously to both clean and preserve my antique cues. But I don't think using it in the same way as a beeswax is the best...

Have you used a phone based barcode scanner to see what the balls say? Is it just the number of each ball but rendered in a barcode?
