3 cushion European Team Championship live

Thanks for the info! I've been waking up at odd hours to what what I can of it for the past two days. Unfortunately, I missed the Jaspers/Caudron and Rudolph/Zanetti round, which looks like it must have been quite a show!

3 cushion European Team Championship live

Do you know the schedule for Saturday? Matches have been starting at 9am local time, but I wonder if they will be starting later for the semis and finals?

    Korean four ball game

That's probably because the rails are dead (i.e. inefficient). Dead rails produce longer (shallower) angles and slower speeds just as you describe. Another contributing factor to your perception could be rail height, if the rails are shorter relative to the diameter of the ball than normal...

Check out this shot...for the out

Nice going! I agree, that follow shot is much harder on pool tables. Here's one of mine from a while back... I made the 1 on the break and was forced to be solids by the rules (otherwise, I might have started with the 13-4 combo into a similar pattern).

World Championship One Cushion 2007, Alicante Spain

You're right, Mark. I just confirmed with Caudron that it was *not* 23 and out. He said the run was in a match with Ceulemans in his club in Frameries, Belgium about 14 years ago. I think my original "confirmation" must have been due to a miscommunication. I was talking with Ceulemans about...

World Championship One Cushion 2007, Alicante Spain

I just want to add that Caudron makes runs of over 100 from the break on those DVDs in straight-rail, three forms of balkline (47/2, 71/2,47/1), and 1-cushion, as well as a run of 15 from the break in 3-cushion. There's also a montage of 50 creative artistic shots, as well as an interview and...

What would you do in this 3C layout? [1]

If I were forced to play SLS, I would hit high follow and take around a half-ball for each, varying the sidespin to adjust the path. Frequently, this will double-bank the red to the top right corner area for position if you play a speed to just make the point and hit slightly fuller as the red...

Shouldn't Carom Have Its Own Forum Apart From Deno?

I think it's a great idea. For non-daily browsers like me, I frequently miss interesting threads that get buried if I don't flip through several pages. Having a separate forum would make it easier to find the carom talk. Also, Deno's inactivity suggests at least a renaming/relocation is in...

    Back pain = change stance?

Everyone is different and I haven't had back surgery (fortunately!), but what finally allowed me to manage my pain after too many unsuccessful trips to various doctors is learning the McKenzie exercises from 7 Steps to a Pain-Free Life: How to Rapidly Relieve Back and Neck Pain. Carefully...

Pool player, New to 3C. Stroke mechanic differences

Blomdahl and Jaspers (and I) use an open bridge for thin hits where extreme accuracy is required. They also have a less upright stance than the majority of players.

    Z-Shaft

I've used a Predator P2 with a Z2 shaft for 3-cushion since January without problems. I've pretty much decided that it's a permanent replacement for my 12+ year old Schuler. I bought a 29" and a 30" for comparison, and so far I prefer the 30". I tried a borrowed 314 for a while and it was...

    Hours of video found

Thanks for the links, selftaut! The set format world record 45 in 9 innings made by Frederic Caudron against Semih Sayginer from 1996 is buried in there at mms://vod.tbc.co.kr/vod5/billiard/bill961208.asf in case anyone was overwhelmed by the sheer number of videos available and hasn't found...

Blomdahl vs Rodriguez excerpts on YouTube

That's a good guess, Mark! Actually, it's from the finals of a 2003 tournament held at Corner Pocket Billiards in Ft. Lauderdale (just a bit up I-95 from Hernando's). Sadly, I heard that it recently closed down, which prompted the memory of the match and the post of the videos. They had 4...
