    9-Ball Pushout - Foul

Per Jay Helfert: "Richie [Florence] was an innovator. Against my objections (I was his TD), he went to Texas Express rules for the televised Caesar's events. He was looking for a way to speed up the game. A typical Race To Eleven used to take an hour and a half to two hours. The new rules cut...

    Buying Unknown Cues- An Example

Nice cue. Hunting is the thing. Buying is secondary. Liking the cue is always my main, many times sole, criteria. The more expensive the cue, the more other factors come into play.

    9-Ball Pushout - Foul

This one. Any money ball in the kitchen got spotted which created a whole new significance and intensity to making spot shots. For some reason, spot shots have always gotten in my head but put cheese on one and it became a completely new hamburger. Way too much fun.

    9-Ball Pushout - Foul

I would love to see roll/push-out resurrected by a sufficient number of folks. It is a much better game. I've heard for years, as we see here, some folks really liked it. Young folks do not know the game at all. It resembled one pocket due to safety play/strategy/pace of play. Larger pockets...

What causes very slight warping in pool cue butts?

"I always dread seeing when ordering an old used pool cue." When ordering or on delivery? How did seller describe beforehand? (Was the condition a surprise?)

    Help me decide the wrap!

Leave it. Can always do it later. The way I think: if I move it, I am stuck with it (no second shots at wraps) so unless the new path is clear, I wait. A lot of times if one goes ahead with an uncertain move many other possibilities miraculously appear.

    I have it, Do you?

If there is any way you can do it while you are alive, DO IT. Delivery is critical. After one dies, shit happens. Lawyers cost more than you can believe.

Things I Don't Understand at the Pool Room

We live in a world in which courtesy is all but dead. Why expect any in a pool room? Just kidding, a little bit. Pool etiquette is just another endangered aspect of our sport.

Cameras, computers, and me are a bad mix. Add AZB, and it gets even worse. When I get the chemistry correct, I will give it a shot.

Best All-Around Production Cue for ~$1000 (Value, Playability, Durability, Support)?

There is no accounting for the depth of ignorance certain individuals reveal on the internet. My belief is it is related to anonymity. I try to not engage with such folks because they are beyond help -- they will not, or cannot, learn. GB Shaw said it all, "Never wrestle with a pig because...

Why are there so few black pro players..?

I don't know these folk's particular circumstances, but OK OGM money came from and produced a special breed of cat -- stereotypical balls to the wall, everything on the line all of the time, wildcatter -- real fine DNA for a pool player if you ask me. But it is still money and must count for...

Why are there so few black pro players..?

Don't think I know of any pool player who came from money. Were they there and undercover? Or just not there?
