    dealing with emotion

I read a book a couple of years ago. I'm pretty sure it was Phil Capelle's A Mind for Pool. I remember he said that you shouldn't waste emotion after a bad shot by commenting on it (for example, cursing), making any motions such as hitting the table because it wastes both physical and mental...

A Pro Player opens his mouth......

Wow, I for one am glad that some of the pros are accessible. I think it's great and the ones I have either met or talked to online have went out of their way to be nice to me: Mike Davis, Shannon Daulton, Sarah Rousey, and Blackjack. It's their very accessibility that fuels my passion for the...

    room for a table

Bar tables 3 1/2 x 7? You need at least 4 feet on each side so that would mean at least 11 1/2 x 15. Our great room is 11 x 19 I think, and we have a 4 x 8, it really gets crowded on one side! :D

    Going to See the Monk

That's interesting because I didn't even realize you were supposed to use a loose grip until a comment was made during the Reyes-Souquet match on TV a few weeks ago that you could hear the sound the cue made against the cue ball when they struck it..I tried it and it improved my game somewhat.

    Louisville headcount...

No, the brochure is very confusing. http://www.playbca.com/2006_9Ball_Brochure.pdf It doesn't say about the 9-ball, but the 10-ball, one-pocket, and banks tournaments looks like they're open to anyone, including pros. However, the low payout probably won't attract them. :p I still think it...

Help in buying a first two piece Cue

I bought a Palmer cue for $60 at the 2001 Derby City Classic...it's awesome for a starter cue. I bought another one a couple of years later and neither one of them has warped despite the abuse of being left in my car trunk in extreme hot and cold weather a few times. I still use them.

Something I noticed Efren Reyes doing

The only time I use an open bridge is when the cue ball has another ball beside it and I can't reach it with a closed one.

You're talking about the BCA 9-ball, etc. National Championships, right? I downloaded the brochure but it didn't say anything about whether spectators could watch and if so what it would cost. I'm also wondering if it's anything like the DCC where they have vendors in the halls, etc. It...

    DCC Schedule

Oh, me too!! They dedicated a whole forum to the DCC for ramblers like us! :D ;) I talked to hubby last night and it looks like we are definitely going!! Our buddy is going for the whole week and he's friends with Shannon Daulton--I forgot to ask if Shannon was going to be there but he almost...

    Sterling Gameing Acquires insidepool.com

Downloads of IP mag issues are $1.00--not free. Totally worth it, if you're comfortable putting your credit or debit card info on the net...(which I am NOT, just yet). I was relieved to hear that the problems IP is having are getting resolved. It is a great magazine. I suspected that there...
