Need over sized center slate 33x53x1 Brunswick Monticello table

This might sound stupid, but....... Any chance of taking a center slate from a 9 footer and "whittling" it down a bit? Slate is fairly soft, as stone goes, and it may be an option for you, using the original slate as a template. Or am I being naïve? :( (P.S. I've learned form...

    Bondo over Bondo?

    Thanks, Glenn. Good to know.

super glue "pins" I'm not a table mechanic myself, but I like what tjohnson said: superglue the radiating cracks with thin superglue to reduce the probability of further fractures. I would also add the cardstock/superglue "pin" at the location of the problem pin to additionally stabilize the...

    Bondo over Bondo?

Can a damaged bondo repair job be "fixed" by adding new bondo over the previous bondo? .......or would it be better to remove the previously applied bondo down to the slate substrate and start over? No guessing please. I don't need to be the test pilot, so to speak.

    Moving a Table Myself

Moving a table by yourself You may already know this, but it's worth repeating. Mark everything in relation to the head and the foot of the table, especially the slates. You'll want to match the slates to their screw holes on re-assembly and this will help. When you get to the point where you...

    Scratches on table rails

Rail scratches I'd seek out a local woodworker, custom cabinet shop or furniture refinisher and ask what they would recommend. There are some real craftsmen out there that have forgotten more about wood refinishing than I could ever know. A lot might depend on what the composition of the...

    Ball specifications.

Photo of balls I've attached a photo of the balls. I wish there were some proprietary markings on balls identifying them as to their authenticity. Do these appear to be Super Pros???

    Ball specifications.

I have a set of balls which came with my second hand table and advertised as Aramith Super Pros by the seller. No box, just came in a ball tray. Their weight varies from 159.8 grams to 168.1 grams and the cue ball at 156.5 grams. I've read that balls can vary in weight after a lot of use and I...

I'm going to explain rails to everyone, and rail calibration!

More sub-rails Found this at another site. The measurements are slightly different than those mentioned earlier by Glenn but perhaps Glenn was being specific to Gold Crowns whereas this image is rather generic.

I'm going to explain rails to everyone, and rail calibration!

Rail questions O.K., I've recently joined AZB, not as a mechanic, I'm not. Not as a player, I've just recently taken an interest in pool and can't run two balls in a row. But, I do appreciate knowledge and the power it imparts on the holder. I've been reading everything I can on this site and...

    Glue

Glue removal I just removed glue from my 7 footer, 3 pc table. Scrape off what you can, then follow up with 3M Adhesive Remover. It may take several applications but when it's clean, it's really clean. Not a job for in the house unless you have good cross ventilation and an understanding wife...
