Doug Leech has been at it a long time. He is from Wheeling, West Virginia.

I think he wanted that 17" Pro Taper one to be the whippy shaft. It should be whippy. Back his pro taper off to about 10 inches to be a little stiffer. But like you said earlier the shaft will most likely warp.

I have owned all those designs at one time or another. I have a JR3 for sale now.
