BCA Event in Las Vegas Neveda 2005

Posted as Dingle.. First of all, I wasn't attacking you, but it sounds like you're a little defensive about the getting high comment. Enjoy your $19.00 a night at the Stardust, I can afford to stay at the Riv and I prefer to. I don't eat at buffets because they always suck. I've always won...

Best Bar Box Player in the World?

Right now, Cliff Joyner. Give some props to the old guys: Louie Roybal from Albuquerque is amazing for an old guy. I don't think he sees too good either. I've taken a couple of lessons from him and he's a great guy. I see Clyde Bowles listed in just about every national 8-Ball seniors...

Things Pros deal with that you don't think about...

I agree with everything you said there, you whiney %^*&* :). I actually really like your comments and I do agree, but on the up side: 1. Lots of people look up to what you can do 2. You can make money (some) doing what you love to do (playing, teaching, gambling) 3. You smoke less, which...

    Different League handicap systems.

I played APA for 2 seasons and there was sandbagging going on. A few of the better players would discuss it openly. It kind of depends on the type of people in your league. Because of the handicapping, I will never play APA again. I just don't like handicapping anyway period. Our BCA...

    table mechs: need further advice

I'd be careful about going with the 760 cloth. I had 760 and switched to 860. I like a fast cloth, but the 760 is really fast. I was a little more work to adjust to most other tables. Most pool rooms that use simonis use 860. -dingle

    Different League handicap systems.

My 8-ball league is not handicapped, but one of the coneheads (seriously, we call him Conehead Jim) kept team handicap scores for our 2003-4 season. He handicapped by rounds I think. Anyway, here's what he came up with. Discussion Tables

Do you call these on C players?

Bob, You are absolutely right, that would have been the best course of action.

Do you call these on C players?

And by the way, it's a BCA league this happened in. APA is all slop anyway (at least here), so why even have fouls!

Do you call these on C players?

In response to this, there is a rule about shooting at a 45 degree angle if the cue ball and an object ball are within a chalk's distance. I was simply explaining the shot by telling you it was 2 inches (he didn't have to shoot it at a 45).

Do you call these on C players?

The comment about fouls always go to the shooter if no ref is present always bugs me a little. I understand that rule, but it's just a shame that not everyone is honest who plays this game. I assure you, I always call fouls on myself even if my opponent wasn't paying attention. That's just...

Do you call these on C players?

Scenario: I'm playing a C-D player who does not know that shooting through a ball too close will result in the double hit of the cueball (we've all seen this before). He has ball in hand after my break (and scratch) with the one in the open and the nine right on the corner. He lines up...

    Molavia Tip Review

As someone who does 99% of the tip jobs for the Pool League where I live, I've put on and also used quite a few tips. For the price, I'm really liking the Everest medium tips, made by tiger I believe. Hercules are nice also. I've had a few Talismans and they really sucked. No two Le Pro tips...

    Wearing A Watch?

I started wearing a watch a couple of years ago and I REALLY noticed it at first, mostly because I wear it a little loose and if it slid all the way up it got in the way of making certain bridges. In fact, that watch broke because the metal pins that hold the band bent from playing so much...
