I have to wonder re: those Predator tables. Are the pocket liners plastic? They seem to spit back forceful shots hit straight in, much like a lot of early Gold Crowns (something the Diamonds never do).

Can you find which match when he stepped up and popped in a near table length combo with the object balls maximally equidistant from the pocket & each other, as casually as if he was pocketing a hanger? I was sitting only a few feet away, and my jaw dropped!

I agree. I still have an early 90s one with a non-laminated shaft, and soon after it’s purchase I then sold all my Gus Z. & Schon cues that it outperformed.

Back in the day, it WAS common that all players who had never read a rule book would do just that. But, once we learned re: the ‘forward stroke’ & ‘CB must be shot out of the kitchen’ rules, things changed. Specifying BCA rules before the game starts (and carrying a copy) helps prevent conflicts.

IMHO, the CB should break from the headspot when using a template rack (one on the footspot). Other racked balls are supposed to be random. If you suspect your opponent of intentionally manipulating the order, you should be allowed to insist on re-racking until satisfied otherwise (?). Of...

A similar mechanical device to insure a perfectly straight stroke (with laser-light sighting attachment) should likely be allowed, since the template rack has become common. Soon we will have AI robots who can calculate cutting angles & shoot for us, no doubt.

And, at the skill level of those guys, a too-hard break might easily be last shot you got! Of course, if you think you’re good at calling a ball out of a full rack, and not at prolonged safety contests, you might gamble that your opponent never gets to leave his chair!
