I just bought a like new early/mid 90's Meucci cue that has been stored in a 1B-2S Schmelke that appears to be the same vintage as the one you have shown there (can't tell for sure since only showing inside of case). What I was told from the owner the cue has been stored in the case since new...
When Hobo Freight (I do love them 😁) asks me if I want to buy the extended warranty I just tell them when it craps out I will just throw it in the garbage and come back and buy another. Actually broke one of their vises as well but it did last for a bout 15 years and broke with I had a 5' bar...
So you just do an ultra thin coat of whatever you use for sealer? I use the solarez epoxy sealer but I was thinking I should do like 1 or 2 "fog" coats with with a spray sealer where I can really control how little I lay down and it will almost flash dry.
Is there not any concern that you could get gassing through the wrap if the wood under the wrap isn't sealed before it is saturated with the final gloss finish?
Thank Ryan, I assume you are saying before you put the final finish coats over the wrap, like in the case of a Meucci. I ask because I wanted some confirmation if anyone did the epoxy sealer over the wrap before the final finish coats.
With respect to the Solarez products, do you do the grain filler and sanding resin before you install the linen wrap? I am speaking in terms of a cue where you intend to cover the wrap with the final finish.
Thanks
Erik
Has anyone sent a cue directly to Meucci for refinish or repairs since the new owners have taken over? If so can you comment on the quality of the work and the time it took to get your cue back as I am considering using them for few cues I have.
Thanks
