New Billiards Movie Screening: Night To Be Gone

Except the hustler had Paul Newman and Jackie Gleason. Can't beat that lineup.

How do these diamond tables play so badly? vid

I would not buy a GC6. I was speaking of the IV (the best one yet imo). And yes, I had pointed out it is the shelf depth. Never liked it. A ball should be missed because it did not hit in the pocket, not because it went in the pocket and it threw it out 🤮. That is just my opinion. I am curious...

How do these diamond tables play so badly? vid

I have a new Diamond 9' in my house. I have never been concerned with longevity of any Diamond table. Any table has to be properly cared for (and I mainly speak for those in public halls where they see a lot more abuse and play). But, if I had it to do over I would have kept my minty GC IV...

I did not mention anything about having an American to root for. I wrote about general people would find it god awful to watch (more or less). When I say that, I do not mean pool lover viewership (though I love pool and don't watch it). An allure of pool is correct. And what I watch today...

Show any example where professional pools prize money skyrocketed like the popularity of pool did back then? The top prize was Resorts. And it was simply because it was a top heavy tournament to pay that amount to 1st. It had no effect on professional pool. If it did, the prize money of that...

Do you mean for his break? Or the rack after rack after rack thing? That is being a bit out of touch with todays youth. For instance, my son and his friends could have 10 pool halls nearby and would not give them the time of day. Heck, I have a brand new Diamond downstairs and he could care...

So, you (you, as in the pool world) is using tight pockets as the solution in trying to do away with soft breaking? Why not just do away with soft breaking? 3 balls behind the line is not the answer either. Everyone has hit slugs, as hard as possible and occassionally not got 3 behind the line...

Are you referring to any match in particular? Point out a professional match like this. Shoot, I will watch it. 2-3 racks is a bit more common occurance, so any that are rack after rack after rack after rack will do. But, we are all pool lovers and may appreciate safety play at times. I was...

Of course. I am ok with that too. Playing conditions for pool never needed to change, just the people managing/marketing it. And I did not say amazing shots are not made. I said they are lessened. That is just a certainty. But, if MR is the ones who put on the European Open, I thought it was...

I've been around pool since around 8 (now 49). If I had a dollar for how many times I have heard "right direction" I would put Musk in the completely broke list, by comparison. Football fields don't change size all the time either ;-) If tight pockets are the thing, play snooker. Can get paid...

Other players might appreciate it. But totally wrong if you want a prime time viewable sport. The majority like excitement, amazing shots, etc... That is lessened by pocket size. But, good if pool would like to remain in the small ppv arena. Regular viewers could care less. They would just...

lol... I have been in many old places like this over the years. You are not playing good pool until you have conquered completely dead rails, slow cloth, a little slate showing, heavy oversized cue balls, and nice slant in the leveling.

    Palmer Original materials

I had pm'd where to get it. If they had any left anyways. Looking back, that is the same person I acquired some from. I only bought enough to do a matching cue to some of my others. It is the only ones I have in the silver color. George used the stuff as well.
