Wanting to get back into tip replacement, shaft cleaning

Hello. I have been out of pool for about 13yrs or so and I have gotten the bug again. I used to have a Porper Mini Q lathe and I absolutely hate that I got rid of it, man, it sure worked well. So I am in the market for a new or good, used lathe. What I want to do is tip ferrule...

    Where to get wood?

Where would be the best source to get a couple of highly figured purpleheart square stock to make a butt. I am guessing what would be needed would be a 1.5 x 1.5 x 30# square? Thanks for the help!

    It's Been Three Weeks Now......

I talked to Bradley Turner today from Diamond Direct to order my new table and deliver it. He mentioned a guy in Montgomery ordered a 10ft table and he said they are about 3 months out on that particular table.

3D Printed Taom square chalk holder

Nice job! I would be interested in purchasing one. All I ever use is Masters chalk but considering buying some other brands to try out as well.

I have had both. I had a nice Joss and I came across a deal to buy a JW and jumped on it. To be totally honest with you, I could not tell a difference between the 2 except for the price. Would I buy another JW if I came across a good deal, absolutely.

    Custom cases

I am sure everyone who has owned a Justice case is regretting getting rid of them now. I saw one the other day on eBay in mint condition that sold for $4400.00 Looks somewhat similar to the last one I had Jack make me.

I met Jack twice and I also owned 6 of his cases, they were nothing but the best. He really took pride in his work.

Thanks for everyones response. I will start the search for a new case. Man, that sure is a nice looking case. That is pretty much what I am looking for. I have met John Barton a few times and he makes a really good case too. Thank you all for you time and now the search begins! Shawn

    Custom cases

Since i have been out of shooting round balls with a wooden stick for 13% of a century and things have changed a lot....who makes really nice custom cue cases? I have owned a couple of Jack Justice cases, a Swift case, an Its George, a Porper and I think an Instroke case. What are some names...

It has been over 13 yrs. Glad to be back

I agree. There are a few that just want to draw a check, but the vast majority of VA employees just want to serve our active duty, veterans and dependents. I am gonna be sad to go, but its time for me to move on along!

Thanks Paul! I do intend on joining a local pool league. I think it is fun and a good way to meet new people since I have only lived here about 1.5yrs. The guy I bought the home off of put in a 200 yard shooting range so I can also blow off some steam shooting my pistols and also my long guns...
