    Better, topic (Veneers)

If you offset the cue enough, moving the center of the point groove which in turn moves the center of the miter, the miter will no longer be in the center of the point....giving it the appearance of a stacked veneer. But stacked veneers alternate and as you stated in an earlier post the veneers...

    Better, topic (Veneers)

one more thing, 4-5 veneers being the easiest to miter, 3 being a little more difficult...2 ? gotta stack em, atleast i do or it looks like hell....anybody successfully mitered 2 veneers? not talking about .060's or bigger I'm in the middle of a 1 veneer mitered fullsplice. It's not finished...

    Better, topic (Veneers)

Royce, You might be right about Burton stacking veneers but there may be another explanation. If the blank is offset enough to even up the points, it can throw off the miter enough to make it look like it is stacked. If the veneer looks like it is all stacked on one side that may be a...

    OAL of jump cue?

It's way stiffer and the extra weight is so far forward that it helps some jack up on the cue ball to jump. I've never had any complaints about the weight...even from the doubters. This year I started making full splice jump shafts...stiffer but lighter.

How many cues do you make a year?

Seems like it's always a race....a race to meet the deadline. I apparently am not much of a racer anymore.

    Full splice jig

Hi Kelly. Wasn't meant to correct, just putting my 2 cents in.

    Full splice jig

Radial arms and table saws can be used to cut the forearms of a fullsplice. Bandsaws for the butt. So two jigs would be needed if you wanted to do it this way. One for the table saw or arm saw and another for the bandsaw. No oil and water...just another way to get it done. Mark Bear

    Quarter sawn sugar maple

Eric I'm glad you said something. I found myself scratching my head wondering what I missed here. This is exactly why I go the PM route instead of posting things. It's not worth the aggrivation. This may be the largest READ only pool forum in the world because not a whole lot of people want...

    Pressure Treated Wood

Jim is the man to help you find the most unique piece of wood to fit a custom order. In natural or stabilized form. He's been doing that for me for years. His wife Sandy is a world class scrim artist too. Both wonderful people.

    Cuesmith/Hightower lathe and Inlay Pantograph

I have a midsize lathe and pantograph for sale. I bought it over 10 years ago as part of a package deal from a guy going out of business. I've probably used it 6 times total. Like new condition. Anyone interested let me know. I'm running out of patience with Ebayers. Here's the item...

Do you (cuemaker/player) ever hate selling a cue...

A little off topic but something that happened just last night. I've sold a local kid two cues over the last couple of years. Both have ended up broken and in the trash because of his bad temperment and immaturity. Both cues have been salvaged by dumpster divers and brought back to me for...
