I had one under the original tip on my '70s Abe Rich cue, and it caused me nothing but problems when it was time to replace the tip. I'm sure if both tip and pad were new it might be a different situation. But now with my Adam I have Ivor-X and Kamui hard, with no pad, and I love it.

The SS is way too soft in my opinion. I put on a Kamui hard to try it out (hardest tip I've used), and I absolutely love it. Now, I can't imagine going back to anything softer than a Kamui medium.

I think it would look better if the camera was on a small tripod, so you could see over the balls a bit.

I, too, think it's silly to pay $25 for a smaller cube of chalk. HOWEVER, the difference is, I have no intention on bashing someone for using it, or not using it. I've been observing Kamui chalk users turn into Kamui elitists lately, and it's becoming a bit annoying.

Totally up to the discretion of the owner. Personally, I wouldn't want someone creating burn spots on my cloth.

Yeah this is what I have been told. I was mostly joking-- any difference that people claim to feel is most likely a classic example of placebo effect. (Although I can't speak for Kamui chalk, because I have yet to try it.) Realistically, I've used new and old Master, Triangle, Blue Diamond...

Preflag Master blue only. The OLD kind with lead in it. I just got a piece of Blue Diamond, and I can't stand it. It's too powdery, and not sticky enough in my opinion.
