    Yes, thank you. That is how I was setting up, but then wondered why the other arrangement with only 3 byes was not used.

    I am making out a double elimination bracket for 12 teams. All of the examples I find are the same and have 8 byes as shown in the attachment. I am wondering why the brackets are not set up like in example 2 here which only has 3 byes.. I am probable missing something, but don't know what...
