I think people are over thinking it....I sometimes apply weight to my open bridge. Especially, when im jacked up and shooting down on a shot that requires a shorter jab stroke. Just grip the butt of the cue more and angle your wrist downward to apply pressure to your bridge. I sometimes do this...
