Any Advice on how to shoot jump shots with accuracy?

I have shot for 37 years and i really never did use a jump cue much. I have always relied on my kicking. But in the past month i have been trying to improve my jumping. It is taking a toll on my shoulder and ribs. I dont have any problems getting up over the ball but i cannot make a ball 3...

    Thank you all

Hate to hear this Jay. I'm so sorry you are having to go through this. But remember you are not going through this alone. Every one that knows you and has picked up a cue is backing you right now. Just keep on keeping on and give us updates on your progress.

    Can anyone ID this ringwork?

Hey Chris Thanks, The insert is brass. Had to go back and look but when i got the shaft it was a 5/16x14 and i tapped it to 18 to use on a Meucci Original. So it had to be a cuemaker that used 5/16x14 none pilot with a small diameter joint .822 diameter.

    Can anyone ID this ringwork?

Got this shaft off ebay few months ago. Guy didnt realize it was a Predator partial. Got it cheap. Cleaned it up and looks great . I know i have seen this ringwork before and Jay Helfert had a regular shaft with this ringwork. Im was thinking it may be for a Meucci due to the joint diameter of...

    Underappreciated Cue Makers Section

I agree it doesnt get any better than BlackCreek cues. I have had one of his cues from around 2010 and i have played a lot with it. I have never experience a clearcoat like his and i have owned about 51 cues. It looks crystal clear and i have hit the butt against doors and chairs and it hasnt...

Anyone try CJ Wiley's SuperStance and SuperStroke Trainers?

CJ is definitely right on the stance. I had a older guy when i was in my mid 20's that tried to show me this and he was a jam up player and had a helluva stroke. I tried it for like 2 days and it just felt weird to me and i went back to my old way of lining up the shot with my right hip and...

Old Matches - How important is commentary?

I think that a commentary should be done like Earl the Pearl does it. Only one person doing it to start. When you have 2 people in the box they are telling stories, cutting up etc. Earl gives you insight on every shot of how he would play the shot and give other options also, Its like you are...

What beginner pool tip do you wish you learned sooner?

Focus on position and stay down and watch what the cue ball does after contact. This lets you know everything, the tangent line how that ball reacted after hitting a rail. When i was in my 20's and 30's all i focused on was making the balls. I believed if i could pocket balls good enough if...

    Dale Perry cues for sale

Looks like these are sold by the same person. The shipping costs are the same and pretty steep at that. Yeah its true that these were going around 150 to 180 at one time. But with the inflated prices of cues these days they would be a bargain for around 450 today.

Question about stretch index on fast speed cloth?

Ok, I have installed Simonis, CPBA and few cheap cloths on my own tables.I have never installed anything faster than 860. I know that on a 9ft table with Simonis the stretch is around 1.8. I just installed Gorina Tournament 2000 and what I came up with as the stretch index of 2.7. basically 3.5"...

    Playing Pool after 50?

I play regular with a friend of mine Clint Parker he is 85 years old and shoots jam up. Helluva straight stroke and steady as a rock. Also, had another friend Bob Fannin that was 72 unfortunately passed away now since its been over 20 years that beat Cory Duel at DCC one year.
