My 1963 Valley 770 table has this coin slide.
I want to make my coin-op table coinless. If you have been successful doing this, please let me know how you did it.
Thanks in advance.
I recently posted the restoration of my 1963 Valley table. I purchased a custom set of rails and bumpers from Penguin Amusements and let me tell you, the K55 bumpers have great action. No ball bounce off the rails. I was very pleased with the customer service from Penguin Amusements.
I have never done any work with laminate but I think I did a fine job on this table. I am not too happy about the corners so I might come up with some custom corner protectors. There's just a tiny gap where the ends meet.
Thanks again RKC for the tip to remove the old laminate.
The felt goes on...
I appreciate your feedback. This is why I decided to join this group.
My answer to your question is that I have never tried to remove laminate and wasn't sure if it would be a major job to do so. If it's as easy as it sounds, then I might just remove the old and prep the surface.

Thanks for the info. I ordered a custom set from Penguin Amusements. Fully assembled without any holes. I will drill pilot holes before installing the screws.
I finally got someone at Penguin Amusements to help me. He said he could send me a set of blank rails 40" long, milled for K-55 rubbers and no holes. $133 for the set or he could make a set with K-55 rubbers, no holes drilled and covered for $333.
I was hoping that someone has made their own rails from scratch. If anyone has, could you please post some pictures. I would like to try making them. I enjoy woodworking and thought it would be fun to give it a try.
I acquired the table without any rails.
I tried looking online but only came up...
Hello to all.
My wife and I love playing pool. We finally got our hands on an old Valley coin-op table dated back to 1963.
We live in Las Vegas, NV.
We are currently in the process of finishing up with restoring the table.
I will post some pics along with some questions on the proper pages...
