Hurricane room in Kings Cross is the place to play. Rileys in Victoria is an option but not much of a players room as it has the feel of a heartless corporate environment. Sadly there's no current weekly tournaments for American pool, different story if you want to play on the little english...
I agree with the mouse touch comments. I love the game though. The only other thing that I've felt is it seems the side pockets are a bit tight seems like there's a lot of shots that should go into the side from an angle that bounce out.
I realize this is pretty subjective but I keep saying to...
Can't really blame you for not wanting to get into the reality show aspect, but I think some of that will be necessary to expand the audience, there's a reason why HBO does the 24/7 shows. They sell more PPV when they do the reality show to promote the PPV. People need to care about the players...
Kudos for taking the initiative! I suggest perhaps there's a market for your real-time stats engine / overlays for other broadcasts. If you can generalize it for other games I'm sure the rest of the streaming world would be appreciative and perhaps even spend a few bucks licensing it if there's...
Maybe, but let me layout the premise of various popular shows just for fun:
- Watch people try and sell their old shit at a pawn store
- Watch a bunch of NJ kids in a house go party every night get drunk and start fights with eachother
- Watch a bunch of middle aged rich housewives play head...
The number of players in the US is roughly 1/5 or 1/6 that of Poker or Golf, yet our coverage, sponsorship, and quality isn't commensurate with that potential audience size.
One of the other things that's missing is your casual player or APA member plays 8-ball but all we show on TV is 9 ball...
Think about what would happen if you took away the production value of various televised sports? Who would ever want to sit through hours of someone playing cards? Outdoor sports have the advantage of scenery and the viewer imagining that they are on the boat fishing or on a nice golf course...
Seems like the tail is wagging the dog here with Bonus Ball. What happens if the game itself doesn't catch on? Shouldn't we try the increased production value on a game which is already known and played by millions of amateurs?
Nothing against Bonus Ball, but I don't think we need a new game in...
It's a bit of a chicken and egg thing in a way. If someone doesn't make it more appealing to viewers then they won't get more viewers and sponsors won't come. On the other hand there's not much in the way of sponsors right now so you could argue that we're doomed.
In any case I think there are...
For a while now I've been listening to debates about how pool in the U.S. is suffering and how everyone wants it to be bigger and more successful. I often hear that pool isn't a great spectator sport, which I agree with to an extent. One thing that I haven't heard talk about is raising the level...
Hi Guys,
I'm wondering if there's any consensus out there about what people like on balance point of the cue. I play with a cue where the balance point seems to be about 17 inches from the butt. I'm thinking that I might benefit from a cue with a bit more forward balance, but I'm not sure if...
Then perhaps you could argue that any shaft will feel fine to you and will have minimal effect on how you play. The amount of deflection of all the performance shafts have been widely published so it's down to how it feels to you. This is how I evaluate it, how would you?
Finally got one, and tested it
Finally got my Pechauer break cue, and did a little testing today. First off, I'm comparing my old break cue which is a old (cuetech fiberglass cue with a kamui black hard tip) against this new one and so I expect a little better results once I get used to it...
