Are Moori & Kamui tips really worth the money or is it all hype?

Kamui Black Super Soft I used to play with a moori medium and loved it. When it finally wore out the guy at the pro shop said I should check out the Kamui. I bought and Kamui Black Super Soft and absolutely love it. I will never use anything else. I really have noticed a big difference in...

    Palmer custom with rounded points?

It has a 5/16 14 pin and 5 points. Sorry I don't actually have pictures I decided not to buy it after confirming it wasn't a custom. He wanted $500 for it which would be a hell of a price if it were a custom, but unfortunately it is not. Thanks again to all who posted and saved me from...

    Palmer custom with rounded points?

A friend of mine wants to sell me a Palmer Cue and he says it is a custom. My only concern is it has rounded points. Is it possible that it's still a custom if it has the rounded points? Any idea what it might be worth? I know it's hard without pictures, I'll try to upload them when I get...

What shoes do you wear to play pool in?

I have flat feet like many others who have posted. The absolute best shoes I have found for running, walking, playing pool or just about anything are Brooks Beast. They are expensive and heavy but they are the most comfortable shoes I have ever worn. But oddly enough I play the best in Good...

What are they doing when they lick

I do that occasionally to clean the chalk off of my ferrule. I don't like when my cue gets dirty so I clean it often. I don't rub it on the rails I just use a towel I keep in my cue case.

videos with my sponsor, Kamui Tips

I switched from a moori medium to a Kamui black soft and loved it. My brother got a super soft and I liked his even more. So now I have a super soft on all my shafts and couldn't be happier. Those who have said you can get spin on the ball something is wrong. I have never been able to draw...

    What is missing in Cuemaking

Traditional I too am a fan of traditional cues. My cue is as plain as they come in the looks department. It is a Jacoby and is just a solid piece of cocobola with an Irish linen wrap. A few silver rings at the joints is as vancy as it needs to be. Also all that "art" adds a lot of time to...

    Case prices

I don't mind spending 300 - 500 for a good case. The way I look at it is, I have spent almost 1500 for the cues I'm carrying, i want to make sure they are protected. It seems silly to me to spend good money for a cue and put it in a soft case or a poor quality hard case where the cues rattle...

So... Do you think some cues have too much inlay?

Plain Jane I have a plain jane Jacoby. It's just cocobolo with a black linen wrap. When I was looking for a new cue this one caught my eye more than any other. I don't know why but I just love the look of the wood. I didn't want it broken up with inlays.

    Same shot different place

I have this issue sometimes. For example a 45 degree cut into the corner pocket is very rarely a problem. Unless it is a back cut, and then for some reason my mind gets in the way and I can't make it. For me it's a mental thing. Phil Capelle touches on this issue in his book "Play your best...

What cue material don't you like????

I like simple cues. Cocobola or birds eye maple wood, stainless steel joints and a linen wrap. Anything more than that is too much for me. I can appreciate the craftsmenship and the detail of the "fancier" cues, but they're just not for me.
