    Sterling Tip Glue

What kind of glue is used on Sterling cues? I'm having trouble getting tips to stick with super glue gel?

What is the best pool hall you ever played in? And where is it?

211 Club I'd vote for the 211 club when it was still at 211 Union. Great place to play, a real pool hall no bs allowed. I remember that if you played with one of the house cues and liked it they would offer to put it away for you so you could use it next time you came in.

    Marty Herman

I think Marty is either crazy or he is doing what he does. He is hustling the readers of this forum. Let me explain, his links, videos, facebook links all have advertising in them and I suspect that he gets paid a small amount for each click on any of his material that has ads in it. The crazier...

Diamond tables - black marks on balls

Black marks on balls from pockets I take care of four Diamond tables, I've tried waxing the pockets, kiwi shoe polish, hand sanitizer, alcohol and now Thompsons water seal. Between each aplication I cleaned the pockets first with alcohol. I still get black marks on the balls! I used the...

If Diamond tables didn't bank short...

One Pocket For you one pocket players on Diamond tables with ball returns, here we use a piece of sponge rubber about 6x6x8" pushed into one pocket far enough it will hold 8 balls and use the return tray for the other player, it makes score keeping easy. As for Diamond tables banking short I...

Diamond pro am still leaving black marks on balls.

Black marks on balls from pockets I wipe the pockets where the balls hit with alcohol as in an earlier post. This makes the black mark problem better, I think if you did it enough times until the rag you wiped with no longer turned black the problem might go away. By then you would probably...

    One Pocket ?

Oponents ball between the jaws of his pocket, your turn, what is the donwside of fouling by double hitting the cue ball and leaving it between the jaws, instead of following it in to have his ball and one of yours spotted. Thanks Larry T On rereading the One pocket rules I found the oponents...

T Rail vs Vertical bolt rails

T Rails vs modern vertical bolt Just for grins I measured the distances between the long cushions on four Diamond tables I found one that was parallel within a 1/16" close enough? The other three were off by 1/8" to 3/16" I venture a bet that you could measure any new commercial table set up by...

T Rail vs Vertical bolt rails

T Rails I agree with Glen T Rail tables generally have heavier slate, heavier frames. More mass means less give by the table when the cushion is hit, therefore less energy is absorbed by the table. More mass, more solid equals better rebound. There is no substitute for mass. That being said...

T Rail vs Vertical bolt rails

T Rails With T Rails the size of the playing surface is determined by the size of the slate no wiggle room. typically there is an 1/8" clearance around a bolt on a modern table. Right size slate exact playing surface. To explain why T Rails are more solid try pushing sideways on a fence post...

T Rail vs Vertical bolt rails

I've always felt that T Rail tables have a better rebound, faster with a more solid feel. I maintain that I can shoot a bank on a table and tell if it is T Rail without looking all other things being equal, K 55 cushions same cloth etc. Is this my imagination or has anyone else tested this or...
