    How Many of You...

...have dropped an expensive piece of chalk down the pocket of a Diamond table. I have done it about three times and have been able to retrieve two. Now, I've kinda trained myself to be more careful but sheet-at happens. Just a couple of days ago a brand new piece of green Pyro came tumbling...

    Thoroughbred Tips

Came with a Shelby I bought. Medium/hard is the way to go -- now my favorite tip. Lou Figueroa

    John Schmidt runs 820

Sell the Diamond, get yourself a GC2, get it fixed up, run the balls through the polisher, and viola! Dave runs big numbers. Lou Figueroa

    John Schmidt runs 820

If the YT analysis is to be believed his fouls would have broken up this run into a 119, 25, 478, 125, and 73. As to Willie, well, we will never know for sure but there was referee and Willie was used to playing all fouls world championships, in a coat and tie no less -- so the best we can do...

Players know when they foul so I guess my beef with this is it being advertised as an 820 when JS knew he fouled several times along the way. Of course the table playing stupid easy is another thing. A couple of shots that went would not have gone on any legit table. Lou Figueroa

I think many would consider Szamboti the Strad of pool. The rest of your "argument, " meh. You're fiddling in the dark and you can't even do that, lol. Lou Figueroa

small tight pockets in one pocket good or bad?

Really poor analogy. It's like saying a Szamboti killed pool, which no one is saying. Lou Figueroa just sayin'

I play on tough Diamonds -- that's good enough for me. Haven't played on a Valley or any 7' table in decades. IOWs, there is a middle ground. It does not have to be one extreme or the udder ;-) Lou Figueroa

small tight pockets in one pocket good or bad?

I’m not so sure that what the pros play on has squadousch to do with the vast majority of us here or anywhere else. And, having been to my share of big events, I’m not so sure smaller pockets are as prevalent as some here are trying to say. Having said that, there was a time in my life when I...

Tight pockets -- like so many things in life: great idea, miserable reality. Lou Figueroa

Just wanted to give you the opportunity to demonstrate to all here the wonderfulness of those itty-bitty pockets you’re advocating. Do or not do. Can do, or cannot do. Lou Figueroa wax on wax off

small tight pockets in one pocket good or bad?

Went many times while my mom was living in Burbank. Sometimes I’d play 1pocket, other time 3C with the league guys, played Richie there. I think once the house guy wanted to call Wayne to play me but I had to get back to Burbank. Lou Figueroa
