4.5 pockets are just fine. A Diamond with 4.5" pockets plays great. 4" and below...too much.

You're not going to see 100+ ball runs on 4" or below pockets. Period. And that would made straight pool incredibly boring.

Straight Pool would be an absolutely snooze fest with 4" or below pockets.

Congrats on your three highest runs. And I also agree with the way you edited my "quote". Big pockets would be more interesting to watch for 9 ball. The only game that should have tight pockets is one pocket. There, I said it.

Straight Pool is MADE for larger pockets. Having different sections of a pocket available to aim to allows for greater angles and more options to break open clusters, create break shots, etc, during a run. These tests of straight pool knowledge separate the good from the great player. A sub 4"...

Yes - he seemed to play his best with a Meucci. I've just seen so many big matches of him winning with one. Clearly he loved how they played. And yes, how could a cue manufacturer say no to a legend like Buddy. Heck, even Nick Varner said HE couldn't say no when Buddy hit him up for a free cue...

That is right. I remember that amazing cue you made for Buddy. Perhaps my favorite cue of yours. Could you share a photo of it on here?
