I lived in a condo down the road from Fast Eddie's Fairfax back in the early 2000s. I see alot of the old gang from there on Facebook, and talked to T-Bone on the phone within the last few weeks. A lot of pool memories from there as well. Where does the time go?
This was formerly "Fast Eddies" in Springfield, right? I hung out there many years ago when stationed in DC...Ilir, Kevin Bailey, Buck, Woodbridge Freddy, Clay, and many, many other characters/gamblers. Always action and antics. What a lot of fun!
Start playing a lot of straight pool AND one pocket. These games will require you to LEARN the cue ball. The more knowledgeable you become about controlling the cue ball, EVERY POOL SKILL will improve. Shot making, position play, banks, and every game.
I used to talk to Evan all of the time. He told me he would often make unique cues and sell them, at random. He would make up model numbers based on...a whim, to sell them to, usually, a dealer. I suspect this was one of those "unique" cues, without the "unique" notation. Enjoy!
They are both in heaven now. They were definitely "upper crust", compared to me, but they were extremely smart, funny, classy, and kind. I'll never forget them.

Right. I am so fortunate to own my dream JOSS (attached). It just doesn't get any better than this JOSS (to me). TCOM turned both me and my dad on to JOSS CUES back in the 80s. I remember him having all of the JOSS catalogs. I'm not sure why he never bought one. He wasn't much of a collector...
