Jayson Shaw’s World Record high runs on You tube for free

You've inspired me, Lou....I need to start playing straight pool again. I wish there were still big USAF tournaments during my tenure.

I agree with you, Lou. If you can run a 28, you at least have some understanding of playing the game of straight pool (at least, offensively) and can pontificate about pocket size. I've had decent runs in practice, but only played in one real straight pool tournament. While stationed at DLA...

4.5 pockets are just fine. A Diamond with 4.5" pockets plays great. 4" and below...too much.

You're not going to see 100+ ball runs on 4" or below pockets. Period. And that would made straight pool incredibly boring.

Straight Pool would be an absolutely snooze fest with 4" or below pockets.

Congrats on your three highest runs. And I also agree with the way you edited my "quote". Big pockets would be more interesting to watch for 9 ball. The only game that should have tight pockets is one pocket. There, I said it.

Straight Pool is MADE for larger pockets. Having different sections of a pocket available to aim to allows for greater angles and more options to break open clusters, create break shots, etc, during a run. These tests of straight pool knowledge separate the good from the great player. A sub 4"...

Buddy Hall made $85,000 in 1982

I remember attending several CAMEL PRO TOUR events through the early-mid 90s at JOBS in Nashville, TN. I saw Ralf Souquet win one. I remember getting an autograph from Jose Parica for a friend of mine who was too shy to ask. I could have cared less to ask, and he was super cool and just smiled...

    Buddy Hall Cue Specs

Yes - he seemed to play his best with a Meucci. I've just seen so many big matches of him winning with one. Clearly he loved how they played. And yes, how could a cue manufacturer say no to a legend like Buddy. Heck, even Nick Varner said HE couldn't say no when Buddy hit him up for a free cue...

    Buddy Hall Cue Specs

That is right. I remember that amazing cue you made for Buddy. Perhaps my favorite cue of yours. Could you share a photo of it on here?

    Buddy Hall Cue Specs

That would be interesting to know. From what I've read and heard over the years, Buddy could play with a new cue, win a tournament, then sell the cue after said-win, and then switch to a new cue and repeat that procedure. He could adjust to a new cue very easily because he knew so well what he...

    Just curious about Meucci.

I was burned by crappy Meucci cues in the past, but I have had a few of the recent ones and the quality really was quite excellent. I think the PRO shaft is better than the carbon fiber as far as playability, but that, of course, is subjective. Some recent discussion about overlays and Meucci (I...

    Just curious about Meucci.

I want to add on to this line of inquiry. Which current Meucci models have real inlays, and which models are stickers/overlays?
