Who Were Your Mentor or Mentors For Playing 3C??

Mentor I played some billiards back in my teenage days (some say it was over 40 years ago, but that isn't possible). I thought I knew something about the game until I met Bob Byrne a couple of years ago. Due to some health and family issues I haven't seen him since last spring but I'm hoping to...

Rails Reverse English on OB when hit semi hard

It may not be your rails. If you are putting english on your queball it will naturally reverse the spin on the object ball. Right hand spin on the queball will give the object ball left hand spin. You have to compensate for this when banking. A center hit on the queball will give you a true...

    Removing chalk marks

I had Simonis green 300 rapid cloth instaled on my carom table. Made the mistake of using green master chalk. It left marks from the cue tips on the cloth that won't come out. Switched to blue master chalk and had no problem with it leaving marks. Any way I can get the marks from the green chalk...

Replacement rail bolts for antique Brunswick carom table

Does anyone know where I could find new rail bolts for my antique Brunswick carom table (around a 1930 model)? The heads of the old ones are worn to the point where they are very difficult to tighten or remove. Also, if anyone can offer me an idea on how to keep the bolts tight I would be thankful.

    Shaft for carom billiards

The shaft used in carom billiards cues has a European taper. I know that they are supposed to reduce deflection, but I don't like the feel of the taper. Is there a pro taper shaft that would accomplish the same thing? I have read that the graphite core Cuetec shafts are supposed to reduce...

Looking for ANY documention on an old Brunswick table

I would suggest to do a web search under antique Brunswick tables. Asking Brunswick company is no good (I know this from experiance), they kept no records of old tables over the years. Every once in a while something shows up on EBay.

    Antique Monarch Cushions

Can anyone tell me if the Monarch cushions on my 1930 Brunswick 5x10 carom table are still available? If not, can the newer K55 models be used? I have been told that if replacing the Monarchs with new cushions the rails have to be reworked to make them fit properly. Is this true?

    Monarch cushions

I have an 80 year old Regal model Brunswick 5x10 carom billiard table that needs new cushions. Are replacement Monarch cushions available? I have been told that to replace the originals with newer k55 cushions a lot of reworking is required on the rails because the newer cushions are formed...
