It is my understanding Player B would be assessed a 15 point serious foul penalty for not crossing headstring and have to rebreak the rack.

I have often wondered why have multiple rule sets (BCAPL and WPA). Isn't one enough?

Larry Jones, of Burnsville MN, passed away this past Saturday morning. Larry was a great straight pool player over the years and held the distinction of playing such greats in his past such as Steve Mizarak, Joe Balsis, Dallas West and others. We will all miss him at Shooters Billiards, table 39.

Update: It is good to see a 14.1 scoring app for Android. I used the app on my Samsung Galaxie tablet and found it easy to set up game parameters and score the game. At the end of the game, I emailed the game stats back to me and they contained everything I wanted to know. One problem I did...

Thanks, just installed it on my android tab. Will give it a try this weekend as some of the tables at my favorite poolroom the rotary counters just "spin".

Yesterday I started my match with Hank R with a 29 ball run. Ran the first 2 racks nicely then shot a behind the rack break ball and got stuck dead in a cluster. -Dennis

The overwhelming majority of 14.1 players do a saftey shot grazing the corner ball, driving two object balls to the cushions and sending the cue ball back up table.

I watched Karl Boyes / Mike Dechaine match last night. Good clear stream and commentary. Strange end, I thought, when balls were not reracked and KB shot the 100th ball into the pocket.

If the 15th ball is pocketed on the same shot as the 14th ball, you recieve credit for all 15 balls. You then get all 15 balls racked for your next breakshot.

Is there any word on if this Championship will be streamed? It is coming up this weekend I believe.

As I understand it, if you took cue ball in hand behind the headstring (the kitchen)..you have to shoot the cueball out of the kitchen. The shot could be an intentional foul (-1 point). But if you shot the cue ball not crossing the headstring before it contacted a object ball or just shot it...

Don Feeney was at Shooters Billiards in Burnsville MN about 4 weeks ago. He was in the Minneapolis area visiting a relative. He stopped in a couple of times and shot some 14.1, still plays a great game.
