How much louder is a break cue than using a regular cue for breaking?

In that case, how much louder is breaking with a break cue with a non phenolic tip / leather tip / other tip than just using a regular cue? Thanks.

How much louder is a break cue than using a regular cue for breaking?

The missus can (sometimes) tolerate me breaking with one of my house cues I keep around for friends when they come over, but I am worried that if I get a proper break cue with a phenolic tip it will be much louder. Can those of you with break cues please let me know? I play at home, not in a...

    Equal Offense Practice

Equal offense is my primary way of practicing too. I try to do 3-4 sessions a week to see how I am progressing. We are of similar skill levels. Some thoughts: I never tried it with more than 3 BIHs (i.e., BIH after break, and then you get two free misses with BIH after each miss. Game ends on...

Recommendations for mechanic to help level a table in NYC

The mechanic who installed my table disappeared and isn't returning messages. So I can't ask him to come by and re-level the table. (may have been settling or faulty shims under slate edge). Are there any recommendations for mechanics in the NYC area who would be willing to level only (no...

Pool mechanic etiquette - guy's coming to back to fix an uneven table a few months later since he guarantees his work - do I tip?

Hahaha. It's actually really annoying. I just trained myself to aim 1/8 ball outside of needed aiming point on down-the-rail shots on that side.

Cushions were not replaced. Seem to be okay to me, but I am not a seasoned pro.

He did use some shims, I recall it while watching him install. Here is the video of the issue. https://streamja.com/waXp3

Me too. But both the mechanic and the seller said that's probably it when I sent them a video, so I will give them the benefit of the doubt.

The side down the long rail. GC1. FWIW, he didn't show up today and is not returning texts. Lol. Hopefully he does at some point because I'd rather not have to hire someone new to level it who hasn't worked on it before.

This guy is self-employed and a known mechanic. Not an employee. Thanks for the advice all.

Paid a mechanic $500 to install my table a few months ago (no move, just install/level). He said he does a one-year guarantee on the level. A few months later there are some areas where the table is definitely not level. Probably floor settling a bit. We are scheduling time for him to come back...
