Halfway from center to edge on the CB is half the radius, or 0.5R. Dr Dave achieved a 0.55R without miscuing here. The spin rate at 0.5R was a 25% higher roll rate than the natural roll rate versus 37% higher roll rate at 0.55R.
Usually all aiming is done standing up and double check down on shot. There is no go left and right if things feel wrong. Eyeballing the shot is as simple as that.
Someone smarter than me would know if you are suggesting something to do with visual issues of eye dominance, visual center, or...
"Walk up a little more left or a little more right" suggests its not that simple and may have taken some time to have figured that out.
Keeping it simple is what a lot, a lot, of people do. In the book on how to play pool "The 99 Critical Shots in Pool", the author does a super KISS and the...
Jacoby's website shows some of their award-winning cues and, yes, great finish. Yours looks great, too. But, others, like the Element Series, I can't tell from the photos:
Despite no obvious improvement in the short time I have used the Moritz method, I like it because it seems I should be able to capitalize on it. What is not to like? How can assuring oneself that the object ball line to pocket and the cue ball line to object ball are true? Moritz seems to get...
Pro Moritz Neuhausen aims eyeballing the path from object ball to pocket with eyes not far above pool-table height and stands a couple steps behind pool table. His eyes go right and left of that object-ball path and back to pocket center. He then repeats this aiming but for the aiming line of...
Some photos from production cues do not show much of a glossy, lustrous finish. I am thinking of Schmelke, Jacoby, and others.
Photos from some custom cuemakers, though, do.
If I wanted to be sure that the cue came back looking with the shine of the cue from the shiniest custom cuemaker...
Maybe instead test the Jacoby Black V5 that will debut at the Super Billiards Expo in April
I love it. I want more tests!
Perhaps, collect donations specifically for deflection testing? Or, even farm out the deflection testing to some group?
I believe McDermott has one type of only wood pool shaft. It's CF and combination of wood and CF shafts are the i-series, G-core, and Defy. Anything over $350 comes standard with a non-wood shaft.
