Take a piece 3/4 inch delrin and drill a 5/16 hole. Bore an end in it that fits tip. Use 5/16 reamer in tailstock... put glue on tip and insert into delrin.. slide delrin with tip onto reamer and move tip onto ferrule. Tighten tailstock and crank a bit of pressure. Voila.
