    Pool Hall in Philly.

If you're googling for rooms to check out, make sure you call ahead. Lot's of places have closed or severely restricted hours: Willie Mosconi Recreation Center, Broad Street Billiards, and Viet Vuong are all shuttered. Drexeline is definitely worth stopping in; imho it's one of the best rooms...

    Mezz Cue in NYC wanted

Ha! I try to stay away from Amsterdam so I don't lose my paycheck. Thank you for the intel, I don't think I'll have a hard time recognizing Mika.

    Mezz Cue in NYC wanted

Great info, thank you! It'd be a challenge to get out there on public transportation, though. Someone must have some cues in the city.

    Mezz Cue in NYC wanted

Is there any way I can demo and purchase a Mezz in NYC? Any Mezz reps who could meet up to hit some balls? Anyone local looking to sell something in good shape? Happy to meet at your room in Manhattan, BK, or Queens. Reply here or just PM me. Thanks! Phil

    Shortening Your Bridge

I'm trying to work through something similar... Better players are always telling me my bridge is too long. When I shorten it, I notice my accuracy improve (especially with shots the length of the table), but I lose a lot of my stroke and have a tough time moving the cue like I want to.

    One Pocket Lessons (expensive)

Bill, dude! I don't want to get myself into hot water, but I take some offense with your initial post and feel compelled to respond. I really enjoy receiving instruction and would have been a potential one-pocket student of yours in the area. I take private one-on-one lessons in Manhattan --...

Proper table manners etiquette in a professional tournament

Common logic says... if you're playing for fun, enjoy yourself, right? I won't ever dog a shot on purpose, but I will try low percentage shots or "unique" patterns with a player who is under my level (doesn't take much to be under my level). No one likes to be stuck in a chair all the time, and...

    Another newbie here

Hey All, I'm Phil, just a casual player with a love for the game who's already gained a huge amount of insight (and amusement :grin-square::grin-square:) from this forum. I'm 23 and haven't been playing seriously for that long but I practice as much as time allows. I don't play league, but I'm...

    Earl calling out Joe Rogan

If they both agree to wear beekeeper suits and assweights, I will personally donate to a pool that goes to charity! I think they should each be playing for a charity of their choice, and it would be great if the pool community could get behind them by throwing in some $. I know we'd all love to...

    Honorary Cues

About six months ago a room in NYC where I spend a lot of time (and money, unfortunately ) gave me a an honorary cue that I can use any time I'm there. It's nothing special, just a cheap Players-style cue with a nice tip that they keep in a special rack behind the desk, but I really...

    Pool Terminology

The kitchen is one of my favorite terms -- has a great history behind it. Understanding the strings, the spot, and the box would be useful for any beginner.

    Mike Shamos...

Could anyone help me get in touch with Mike Shamos from Pittsburgh? I'm working on recreating a billiards table as described in "The Compleat Gamester" and it's been suggested that I tap Mike's expertise on the subject. For that matter, the opportunity to speak to anyone with knowledge of...
