I have used the wrong term for the spot. When I posted the only term I could think of was break spot. Mods, delete my previous post.

In the NAPA league that I play in the 10-ball would spotted on the break spot. *****post revision. The 10-ball would be spotted on the "foot" spot. I used the term break spot thinking of the adhesive "dot" that is placed on the foot spot on many tables. My mistake.*****

Thanks for the correction. I did a search on cleaning pool balls and the warm water/dish soap method came up. I didn't notice that this method is for the cheaper ball sets and not for phenolic sets. Luckily I do appear to have done any damage to the sets I cleaned. This is a reminder to myself...
