Since you don't have a direct reply. I can only say that I can't testify about the shaft. But I owned quite some Predator cues through the years. What I can tell you, is that, most Predator cues within a certain serie, play more or less the same with the exception of little weight variances...

Kind of both. I mean, I heard you have to wait like 10 years. Which I only know by hearsay. And I have always been interested in what's supposed to be the Holy Grail. It would be cool if I could have my own version built in my lifetime :p. So any info is appreciated.

I agree with KJ mostly. I had to pay my learning money too. I once had it break off above the joint too. But I found that the reason being was that my insert was too tightly forced it. This caused stress on the laminated wood, causing it crack open like a banana. The ferrules however are covered...

Further more, John actually contacted me to explain that the pressure applied on the shafts is lateral, so none of us need fearing the long term effects on our equipment. That's a great business man right there for ya.
